Training for Families & Friends: Being in the Moment

There is a great need for training for family and friends of persons living with dementia. We know if families have training resources that are made just for them, it will make their lives easier and a better quality of life for everyone.

The site will feature
  • real life clips that will show scenarios that happen everyday and show different approaches to the same situation.
  • information on communication and actions and reactions of both the person living with dementia and us
  • body mechanics; how to move so we don't hurt ourselves (or anyone)
  • emotions and family dynamics
  • safety in the home
  • spirituality
  • tips from Grace: a granddaughter who grew up with Alzheimer's
  • glossary
  • a question and answer
  • a place to tell a story, because everyone has a story

We are looking for funding for this project. Here is the beginning of the website: www.beinginthemoment.org
